Civil War RR Gun Variety

Draw Me A Picture
Very very few photo's of military railroad gun cars exist. There are few drawings either. Descriptions written by official and unofficial sources vary wildly from "An Armored Tent On A Flat Car", "Turret On A Flat Car", "Dry Land Merrimac(k)", "Rail Monitor", "Yankee Gunboat On Wheels" etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Apparently these armored fighting vehicles (as we would call them today) were constructs of the individual builder. Some were simple, a field piece mounted on a flat car, while others were more complex. As modelers, this gives us a HUGE area of our own design that can be scratch built and remain plausible.
